My Twelve 2021 New Year’s Resolutions

My Twelve 2021 New Year’s Resolutions

Cheers to 2021! My 15 Resolutions for The New Year - Entertain More is one of them!.jpg

Creative Ideas to Make This Year the Best

While I generally like to make quarterly resolutions (I believe it is more obtainable to make goals in 3-month increments), I’ve added the goals to my 2021 New Year’s Resolutions in hopes of bettering myself, my home, and my life.

1.) Give Back:

  • My parents taught me at an early age to divide my the money I earned into 3 increments (1/3 to save, 1/3 to spend, and 1/3 to give). While these days I strive to save more than 1/3 and spend less, I am hoping to pick several organizations each quarter to donate a percentage of my art sales to. If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comment section below!

2.) Get more involved:

  • Whether you are religious or not, I think getting involved within your community is so important for our health & well-being. I feel like part of why I was off of my a-game in 2020 was due to not being involved with my church, so this is one of my biggest goals for 2021.

3.) Workout more:

  • I know, I know. Adding ‘exercise more’ to the New Year Resolutions list is not very original, but these cute at-home workout equipment make the perfect pieces to get back in shape for 2021.

My Favorite Ankle Weights

These weights can be added to your ankles or wrists & make a great addition to projects around the house or any workout or walk.

Core Sliders

I love these sliders for at-home workouts for sculpting & toning. These discs are great for core workouts and lunges.

Resistance Bands

Looking for a good leg and butt workout? These bands are portable and convenient & have four different resistances that will literally kick your booty into gear!

4.) Drink in moderation:

  • 2020 was a doozy and boozy kind of a year, so as I approach 2021, I plan to cut back and drink in moderation.

5.) Journal More:

  • Journaling not only helps me to remember and vent about things, but it is one of the best ways to get creative juices flowing, and something I plan to do in the mornings before I open up my emails.

6.) Stay Organized:

  • One positive that came from 2020 was working on home projects and getting the house organized. I’ve included all of my favorite tools to keep our home, pantry, and closet in tip-top shape.

Storage Containers

These efficient, dishwasher safe storage containers are perfect for stacking and organizing all of your pantry items. The lids open with the push of a button and keep your food extra fresh. They’ve been such a great way to enhance our storage organization.

Drawer Organizers

These drawer organizers are super easy to install & great for separating all of your clothing essentials to keep your closet neat and tidy.

Broom & Mop Organizer

My husband and I recently added this wonderful broom & mop organizer to our utility room, which has cleared up so much space. It is ideal for closets, mudrooms, and laundry rooms, and it is a great way to add customizable organization.

7.) Collaborate & Network More:

  • Community is key for anyone. Whether it is a strong friend group or business network. I am striving to collaborate more with interior designers in 2021 because art plays an integral part in both our clients’ homes and spaces.

8.) Entertain More:

  • I’ve always loved hosting, something that I deeply missed doing in 2020. I’m hopeful that a vaccine is available to all and that entertaining at home can occur sooner than later.

9.) Cook One New Meal Per Week:

  • Will and I strive to do this every year. On 2021’s menu, I want to perfect cheesecake, my grandmother’s pecan pie, and ceviche - just to name a few!

Non-Stick Pan

This beautiful non-stick pan not only looks good, but it replaces 8 pieces of traditional cookware. We’ve loved this pan and can’t wait to cook more with it in 2021.

10.) Check off one home project per month:

  • We love working on our home and have a running list of projects we want to do, both big and small. From landscaping to adding new light fixtures, we have a lot on our plate this coming year!

11.) Strengthen a Hobby:

  • Having hobbies are so important. I played the piano for two decades, but after college, I slowly drifted away due to work and life. Playing piano brings me so much joy, and I know that adding this back to my daily routine will bring me an immense amount of time.

12.)One creative date Per month:

  • Will and I have date nights often; however, with so many things being closed down in 2020, I want to try and get more creative with our date nights, whether it be a picnic in the park or a drive-thru movie.
