There are certain moments in life that feel small at the time, but stick with you.
For me, one of those moments happened in a parking lot back in 2021, while dropping off our babies at Mother’s Day Out, as we navigated those early days of motherhood. Emily, the founder of Tarry’s Apparel Co., walked right up to me & introduced herself. It was such a simple, kind gesture, but as a new mom, it meant more than she probably knew.
That moment turned into a friendship. And over time, we realized just how much overlap we had between shared friends, shared rhythms of life, and eventually, shared experiences of building businesses while raising young children.
Emily started Tarry’s Apparel Co. after realizing there weren’t many options for children’s clothing that were both affordable and thoughtfully made, pieces that could actually keep up with busy, active kids.
As a mom of two boys, she set out to create clothing that felt classic, durable, and well-designed. The kind of pieces you reach for again and again.
Over the years, Emily and I often talked about how fun it would be to collaborate, and this past winter, it finally came to life!
Emily spends a lot of time in Steamboat Springs, a place that heavily inspired my recent fish collection. So when we started dreaming up ideas, a trout pattern felt completely natural, something that authentically reflected both of our brands.
And she added a piece especially close to my heart as a girl mom: an adorable polo dress that my daughter now insists on wearing to school almost daily. It’s one of those pieces that feels both playful and timeless, exactly what we hoped this collection would be.
This collaboration is filled with pieces designed for summer that are easy, wearable, and made for days spent outside & on the go. I’m so excited for this collection, now available, just in time for all the moments that make summer feel special.
